The international distributor for the series – ZDF Enterprises made a deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment Germany about the rights in the broadcasting of the series.
Hide and Seek is going to become the first-ever Ukrainian series to be on German TV, complete with a German voiceover. The premiere will happen this autumn on Sony Channel, renowned for picking the best European drama project to present. The channel is available on cable and satellite networks. Also, there will be an option to watch the series in its original language.
Marius Rocholl, Sony Pictures Entertainment Germany’s director of programming and acquisitions for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, in his comment to Variety Magazine, said: “The Ukrainian production is a perfect addition to our program, which already consists of outstanding European series. We are very pleased that we were able to bring another high-quality, exciting series into the German-speaking region for our viewers.”
Noir detective series Hide and Seek has an impressive festival track record – it was presented on MIPDrama Buyers Summit in Cannes, The Great Series Summit in Cologne, Eastern European сontent market NATPE in Budapest, Série Series in Fountainbleau, and on Kyiv Media Week, Serial Killer festival in Brno, MIA Drama in Rome, SERIENCAMP in Munich, Göteborg Film Festival in Gothenburg, as well as on Black Nights Festival в Tallinn.
Hide and Seek already premiered in the USA and English-speaking Canada on VOD-service Walter Presents. Also, the series was purchased by the following TV channels: Rai (Italy), Canal+ (Poland), FTV Prima (Czech Republuc), Bonton Film (Czech Republuc and Slovakia), ETV (Estonia), LRT (Lithuania), and Lumière (Benelux states). The Ukrainian release occurred in October 2019 on the ICTV channel.
The series is also available to all Ukrainian viewers on FILM.UA Group’s official YouTube channel.

Synopsis: In a regular apartment, a father and his daughter are playing hide-and-seek. Closing his eyes, the father starts counting. One… Two… Three… Four… Five…
He starts looking for the girl but he DOESN’T FIND HER. The apartment is locked from inside, and during the game neither the father nor the girl left it. Understanding that the girl has disappeared for real, the father calls the police. Later, a video appears on the Net where the disappeared girl is holding a sign with a mysterious combination of numbers. It is obvious that the child has been kidnapped, and this is just the FIRST VICTIM in someone’s complicated and cruel game.
