Ukrainian noir keeps conquering Europe!

Hide and Seek series produced by FILM.UA has been presented at one more big European festival. 

Yesterday, eight-episode criminal drama Hide and Seek (FILM.UA) was presented at Serial Killer in Brno, Czech Republic, the biggest festival of Central and Eastern European TV and online series. The project made it to the main competition program.

Hide and Seek was presented by the project’s creative group: Olesya Lukyanenko, creative producer; Kateryna Vyshnevska, co-producer; Iryna Gromozda, director; Sergiy Krutko, cameraman; and Maksym Nimenko, assistant production designer. 

The authors told about the noir project and answered the audience’s questions about products of Ukrainian studios, production and development, and the project’s European premiere.

Just a reminder: Hide and Seek case study took place on September 16 at Kyiv Media Week.

Synopsis. In a regular apartment, father and daughter play hide-and-seek. Closing his eyes, the father starts counting, “One… Two… Three… Four… Five…” He is looking for the girl but doesn’t find her. The apartment is locked from inside, and neither the child nor the father left it during the game. Understanding that the girl has disappeared for real, father goes to the police. Later a video is published on the Net where the disappeared girl is holding a sign with a mysterious combination of numbers. It is obvious that the child has been kidnapped, and this is just the first victim in someone’s complicated and cruel game.
