Short summary on transmedia projects master class

February 2nd Skill Bill Start held a master class "Transmedia projects: storytelling, platforms, interaction of the elements". Expert of the master class was Belén Santa-Olalla, Senior Creative Consultant at Conducttr, London (UK). Belen not only revealed major features of transmedia projects, but also presented the case of a large-scale project on the promotion of the 4th season of Game of Thrones in Spain - "19 Kingdoms".

In the old world storytelling could consist of separate elements - a movie, a game and a book, which developed separate lines or only had similar characters. As a result, the user received even less than the simple sum of the elements, so one could be confused and perplexed. In the new world of transmedia projects all communications are built in such a way that the user, having access to a film, a book and a game gets many-sided view of one story, receiving much more than the simple sum of the elements. The user is fully immersed into reality proposed by multiplatform media.

Conducttr has developed 7 types of the future storytelling:

• Pervasive. Available on any device and at any time. It blurs the line between the real and the virtual world.
• Constant. The story develops regardless of whether the user is involved in it. Active audience and environmental factors make real story move in one direction or another.
• Participatory. The audience has the opportunity to influence the fate of the characters, locations, and others.
• Personalized. Each user creates a unique experience of interaction with the story.
• Combined. All the audience's journeys through the fictional world should work in such a way to create a single impression.
• Comprehensive. The proposed program should be available not only to users of expensive smart phones, but also to a wider range of users.
• Cloud-based. Previous 6 types must have technical support

Transmedia projects easily combine entertainment and marketing, but the audience always remains at the center. To make all this possible Conducttr was established, it "conducts" all the elements on different platforms.
