Do you know this strange advice: "If you feel bad - think of the poor children in Africa who have nothing to eat, they feel worse"? So, it seems that there is an alternative. You can just read the statistics showing the level of violence in Ukrainian families. For those who do not want to read, I’ll say that the numbers are frightening! And when the issue comes to a certain point, it can’t stay unnoticed. Film company FILM.UA Television shoots a social project "The fear in your house" for the TV channel "Inter".
This is a docudrama, which shows the various problems that exist in the families of Ukrainians, based on real events. It’s about assault and battery, and emotional "vampirism", and the problem of fathers and children...In general, all that is present in the life of our compatriots, but remains hidden from prying eyes. By the way, being ashamed by such situation in the family makes it a global issue. After all, you need to talk about problems. Thanks to the project "The fear is in your house", the audience is not only able to face the most common problems associated with domestic violence, but also to learn opinions and advices of experts, psychologists and lawyers, who can really help. It’s planned to shoot 60 episodes, each will tell someone's personal tragedy. The broadcast of the project is planned for the autumn.
For the shooting was invited non-professional actors in order to make it closer to people, says director Azim Turkmenbaev.
- Azim, the project "The fear in your house" has a social orientation. Is it significant for you as a director?
- Shooting for TV is my job, but I love it. I take on only what I believe. I would have been able to give up a high-paid project, if I did not believe in it. The very subject has to be close to you. If it "catches", only in this case you shoot and you can do it well. This project “catches" me!
- Non-professional actors take part in the reconstruction...
- Yes, we invite non-professionals. On the other hand, still give preference to people who already have some experience of shooting or at least they are familiar with the basics of the acting profession.
- That's a plus or a minus?
- This is unacceptable in the film industry – where should work only professionals. But for this project it is more of a "plus" because it is "real" people, without media image. We are taking them through "basic training" in an accelerated program. All participants in the project are very experienced, "live through the story" and try to bring "A" game. Those who originally came to the casting exclusively to earn easy money, we eliminated at the first stage. Those who get on the set, live in this project.
- How many stories have you shot already?
- This is my third story. Some of my colleagues have already shot 4-5 stories. Each crew has to shoot 10 stories.
By the way, in order to better understand the idea of the project, the creators reveal the intrigue, talking about one of the stories: "After the death of his wife a man raises two teenage daughters. In time another woman appears in his life, but the eldest daughter is not ready to accept her stepmother. In the non-poor family father's attention to the eldest daughter was measured by the amount of money he spent on her. Of course, with the appearance of the new wife family's expenses have increased. The situation is exacerbated when the couple is expecting a baby. What a teenage girl going to do to attract the attention of her father?... "
Frankly, I can’t even imagine. Good thing is that this issue will finally be discussed and this is the first step to solve it.
