Two years ago, the first show took place in the film club NoName Club, and yesterday we had a party dedicated to the birthday of the film club. The evening was very special and spiritual. We were congratulated by a famous Kiev group Gorchitza, music of which made even the most weary viewers dance. Lots of people came to congratulate and celebrate the 2nd anniversary which proves sensational popularity of NoName Club. This time we showed a grasping French detective "Ne le dis à personne" – everyone was satisfied!
Couple of words about our film club: the first series of films was dedicated to the "Golden Age" of Hollywood - a period that has come with the advent of sound films in the late 20's and reached its heyday in the 40's and 50's. For this cycle were selected three films: "Bad and Beautiful" by Vincente Minnelli (1952), "The Last Tycoon" by Elia Kazan (1976) and "Ed Wood" by Tim Burton (1994).
Since then, cinema "Pravda", where film club takes place, has shown 53 pictures: from the 40-ies of the last century to the most recent pictures that have not been released in Ukraine.
Each show is accompanied by a re-creation of an era which represents the film: organizers and guests dress up in appropriate costumes, musicians play theme music, and snacks on the tables are made to give you a taste of the times in which you dive half an hour later watching the film. Yesterday a festive table was laid jointly by a film cafe "Khlopushka" and first Ukrainian Cupcake studio!
