POSTMODERN Postproduction studio handled postproduction works for the historical drama that bowed on Britbox.
POSTMODERN Postproduction studio, a part of FILM.UA Group, handled postproduction for the brand new British series Hotel Portofino from Eagle Eye Drama. The CEO of the latter, Walter Iuzzolino, is also one of the executive producers of the series. Walter is well known for curating the popular international VOD-service Walter Presents, famed for carrying the best of the best of international drama, including FILM.UA very own Hide and Seek.
The series premiered on the 27th of January on the popular VOD service Britbox available in the USA, Canada, Britain, Australia, and South Africa. Next in line are releases in Italy (Sky), Australia (Foxtel), Denmark (DR), Sweden (SVT), Norway (NRK), Finland (YLE), and others.
Hotel Portofino is a historical drama created by Matt Baker based on the eponymous novel by J. P. O'Connell. Adam Wimpenny directs. The story takes place in 1920s Italy when Mussolini rises to power and fascism begins to take hold. The main character, an Englishwoman named Bella Ainsworth moves to the Italian riviera to open her own hotel in the small town of Portofino. The characters of the series have traded the drabness of Britain for the sunny and hedonistic Italy, only to face challenges far worse than rain and cold. The show stars Natascha McElhone (Ronin, The Truman Show, Solaris, Californication). Daily Mail has compared the series with Downton Abbey and characterized it as “drama, in which romance, politics and crime come together in a heady mix.”
POSTMODERN handled sound supervision, editing of dialogues, ADR, sound effects, ambiances, sound design, mixing, and mastering for the series. British colleagues have commended Postmodern studio on their work.
It is not the first collaboration with major global productions for this studio. For example, the company was involved in the development of visual effects for the HBO series CHERNOBYL and Chinese blockbuster The Wandering Earth. In 2020, Postmodern joined Netflix Post Partner Program for Ukrainian voice-over; and last year they were certified by TPN (Trusted Partner Network), allowing them to work with major studios like Disney and Warner Bros.
