Sergiy Sozanovsky made it to the Board of UN Global Compact in Ukraine

On February 26 Sergiy Sozanovsky, FILM.UA Group co-founder, made it to the Board of UN Global Compact in Ukraine.

UN Global Compact in Ukraine is an official representative of UN Global Compact network, which is a UN initiative bringing together the UN and companies all over the world, broadcasting the ideas of Sustainable Development Goals, and serving as a communication platform for business, investors, civil society, labor organizations, local authorities, and the government.

Our principal tasks are not only to lead successful business activities in media field and content production but also to build an efficient industry. Ukraine has lots of resources and potential to become a serious player in global creative community, and bringing companies, people and business together around this goal is a part of our strategy. Global Compact goals are very close to us, and it is a great honor to become even more integrated in UN activities in this direction,” says Sergiy Sozanovsky.

 

The head of Board is Vitaliy Vereschagin (Caparol Ukraine) and other Board members include Volodymyr Kostyuk (Farmak), Maksym Timchenko (DTEK), Yevhen Shevchenko (Carlsberg Ukraine), Zoya Lytvyn (Osvitoria), Iryna Ivanchyk (“Believe in Yourself” foundation), Oleksandr Savruk (KMBS), and Zachary Taylor (UN Resident Coordinator Office in Ukraine).

Just a reminder: in spring 2019 FILM.UA Group joined UN Global Compact in Ukraine.

Joining a global network means that FILM.UA Group aspires to ensure safety, responsibility and transparency of our business practices according to main values and principles of UN Global Compact on human rights, labor rights, environment and fight against corruption, and also to facilitate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.

 

The main goal of FILM.UA Group is general welfare both in production and in product distribution networks, respect, safety, quality and integrity for all employees, from recruitment to product marketing.

Ten principles of UN Global Compact

Human rights

Principle 1. Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.

Principle 2. Businesses should make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Labour

Principle 3. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

Principle 4. Businesses should uphold the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.

Principle 5. Businesses should uphold the effective abolition of child labour.

Principle 6. Businesses should uphold the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Environment

Principle 7. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.

Principle 8. Businesses should undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.

Principle 9. Businesses should encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

Anti-corruption

Principle 10. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Presently, over 9,500 companies and organization from more than 160 countries have joined UN Global Compact.
