Festive ambience was apparent even before you entered the cinema: music was playing from all over, next to the entrance a yellow Volkswagen Т1 in Christmas decorations, one of the main project symbols, welcomed the guests, and in wooden houses the crowd was treated to hot wine and cheer.
Friends, partners, representatives of film industry, media and show business have come to congratulate the film crew: among the guests you could see the film’s crazy producer, “Yabluniv MC” Yuriy Gorbunov, comedy sound producer and “father Yevlampiy” Oleksiy Potapenko (Potap), TV hosts Katya Osadcha and Masha Yefrosinina, musician Oleg Mykhaylyuta (Fahot), member of MOZGI band Dyadya Vadya, showman Petya Bumper, Lilya Poustovit, actors Tomasz Sobchak, Kateryna Kuznetsova, Polina Vasylyna, Lesya Samayeva, Nazar Zadniprovsky, Aram Arzumanyan, Inna Prykhodko, and Vira Kobzar.
After all the fun and treats the guests saw a small comedy standup from Inna Prykhodko and Aram Arzumanyan, the indefatigable couple of Olka and Ashot, characters in both parts of Crazy Wedding. Just like at a real festivity, the official part took place in a friendly and informal ambience of toasts to the events that the year of work between the releases of both films has brought to the film crew.
And there were things to celebrate: Aram Arzumanyan has had a son born this year, producer Nadia Korotushka also has given birth to a son. Plus there was a wedding! Last year right at the premiere of the first Crazy Wedding a couple got married, and a week before the premiere of the second film they also had a child born! And probably there are no Ukrainians left who haven’t heard about the celeb wedding of the film’s sound producer Oleksiy Potapenko (Potap).
So we can definitely say that Crazy Wedding joins hearts and enlarges Ukrainian families not just onscreen but also in real life. As for the festivity’s main figures, each of them received an extraordinary and symbolic gift (for example, Potap got an iconic carpet, just like the young married couple in the new film). So after such greetings nobody could leave the stage without saying a meaningful toast first.
“I am grateful that Ukrainians have come to see a Ukrainian comedy. This is our product, our project and our humor. I am grateful to the actors who managed to convey everything so masterfully onscreen. I am very thankful to MOZGI Entertainment team and Pozitiv for incredible music we’ve created for the film. We made music of Ukrainians for Ukrainians. So that people could get distracted from their problems and concerns and simply have a good time” said Potap.
“Crazy Wedding is a result of work by a huge team which had a complicated task – make the second part even cooler and funnier than the first. And you have to remember that the first part, I’d like to remind you, beat all records of Ukrainian cinema last year starting from 1991, during the whole of our country’s independence. We gathered almost 680 thousand viewers and 55 million UAH, beat the TV premiere record on 1+1 channel – over four million viewers watched our film. On YouTube, we had over five million people watching us, and this was also a record for 2018. And even though in the beginning we faced skeptical remarks all the time and people kept telling us we won’t manage – we still did!” said Yuriy Gorbunov.
The final chord of the official part of the evening was the viewing of Svyat! Svyat! Svyat! music video; afterwards, the film screening took place.
Final credits were met with loud applause of the audience. The film crew went on stage to express a word of thanks to the viewers and everybody involved in filming.
The premiere guests left the hall happy and satisfied. They became the first viewers who have finally found out the secret of the man the eldest daughter in respected Seredyuk dynasty chose and why Vasyl was even angrier because of that than in the first part! In general, the audience praised the film and happily shared its impressions after the screening:
“Actually, this is the case when the second part is no worse than the first. In jokes, dynamics or plot. The second Crazy Wedding met all my expectations, this is a film a whole family should go and see. It is funny, very family-oriented and sincere,” said Katya Osadcha.
“I have just finished watching, and the emotions overflow, everything is very fun! Very romantic. In some places you might even want to cry. And I think that each of you watching new Crazy Wedding will recommend it to their neighbors, friends and colleagues. This is really the film you should go and see during New Year festivities. It is bound to pick you up!” said Inna Prykhodko.
“You know, I never lie, and you should definitely go see Crazy Wedding 2! Because it’s a million times funnier, a thousand times more interesting and I am so cool in it as well,” said Aram Arzumanyan.

Crazy Wedding 2 project became one of the winners of the 11th competitive selection in Ukrainian State Film Agency. The first part of the comedy enjoyed huge success: the film didn’t just pay back all of its expenses in distribution and become profitable but also will remain in history as the first and for now the only Ukrainian film the producers of which returned all funds allocated by Ukrainian State Film Agency, and with interest rate on top of that.
Besides, Crazy Wedding added another unprecedented case to the successes of Ukrainian film production: the project became the first Ukrainian film the format of which was exported and implemented abroad. And on January 31 Lithuanian cinemas will premiere the first screening of adaptation of Crazy Wedding from Ukraine, a comedy entitled Groom Imported. The rights to the film concept were also acquired by Romania, negotiations with other countries are ongoing, some arrangements are already in contract-signing stage. Now the film is presented in FILM.UA Distribution catalogue – this company is the international distributor for projects by FILM.UA Group.
Just like the first film, Crazy Wedding 2 was made by Prototype Production and FILM.UA Group, with MOZGI Entertainment again as co-producer. MMD US and FILM.UA Distribution are responsible for national sales. The director of the second film is Vlad Dykyi who has stayed on board since the first part as well.
