The results for the FILM.UA Distribution’s competition are out!

An independent representative of the Ukrainian film industry that will go to the American Film Market is selected. Also, the projects, which will be included in the catalog on the FILM.UA Distribution stand on this film market, are picked.

FILM.UA Distribution company has acquired the support of The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to promote Ukrainian filmmaking on the world’s biggest film industry event – American Film Market, which will take place on November 6th to 12th, 2019.

As a part of a project ‘Organization of stand and screenings at the American Film Market project implementation on November 6-13, 2019, in order to introduce the Ukrainian films to targeted audience and to find potential partners for their worldwide distribution’, there were two competitions announced.

Only one of three representatives for the Ukrainian film industry was selected on a competitive basis. The competition itself was organized by FILM.UA Distribution in conjunction with the
Ukrainian State Film Agency. The winner of it is Alla Bielaia. In addition, a second honorary place was taken by Volodymyr Mula and his documentary project ‘UKE’, that will be also included in the catalog of Ukrainian films.

The selection process resulted in the list of projects that would be accepted in the catalog that will be presented on the Ukrainian stand at AMF. They are as follows: ‘UKE’, ‘Crimea as It Was’, ‘Tangible Freedom’, ‘The Cacophony of Donbass’, ‘Stus’,
‘Rubizh. Operatsiia Hrubeshiv’, ‘Noble Tramps’, ‘Speech!ess’, ‘Skaz’.

Apart from these films, the Ukrainian stand will acquaint the global audience with such pictures as: ‘The Rising Hawk’, ‘Foxter & Max’, that screening for which will happen on the event; ‘Cherkasy’, ‘The Dragon Spell’, ‘The Adventures of Saint Nicholas’, ‘Mavka. The Forest Song’, ‘The Stolen Princess’.

The American Film Market (AFM) is a film industry event that takes place annually in early November in Santa Monica, California. The 2019 AFM will be held November 6-13. More than eight thousand people attend the eight-day event each year to make new contacts, sell, fund and buy movies.

Participants from more than 70 countries visit the movie market, including company executives, agents, filmmakers, distributors, festival directors, financiers, producers, writers, etc.

AFM is held by the Independent Film and Television Alliance (IFTA), a trade association representing the world's producers and distributors of independent cinema films and television programs.
