Yesterday, on August 15th, the shootings for the sequel of the best comedy of the year took off. Once again, the story is centered around Vasyl Seredyuk, a caring father, a faithful husband and a skilled master. It's been a year since his youngest daughter got into a wedding dress. Emotions subsided, and the expressive father just breathed a sigh of relief… but here the eldest daughter brings an unexpected son-in-law to the house! And so, we are up to another #crazywedding. Trying to get over it, Vasyl has no choice but to accumulate all his forces and use the hidden reserves. New characters, new curiosities and new trials await the audience.
“The story in Crazy Wedding 2 should not only follow all the canons set out in the first part, it should not be just a logical continuation. It must surpass its predecessor. Great success also causes very high expectations of the audience for the sequel, and therefore - high demands on the final product. Can we live up to these expectations? I am sure we will do it,’’ shares film producer and performer of the role of Nazariy Zapuhlyak Yuri Gorbunov.
The filmmakers have prepared many surprises for the audience, and one of the main ones regards the person who will step on the wedding towel. The producers remain intriguing and do not spread the names of the actors who play the newlyweds. But it is already known that new celebs will appear in the comedy, including Positive from the Vremya i Steklo duo Time and Glass and MOZGI. The singer will join the comedic duet of Father Yevlampi (Potap) and Deacon Pilipon (MONATIK) in the role of Kindrat. Positive will also become the film's music co-producer.
"I am pleased that the second part of Crazy Wedding is being made by the team that made the first part of the movie. And I'm proud to be a part of this team! Sure, the job will be difficult, but wil definitely bring a lot of fun. The main thing to remember is that we create new worlds,” said Vlad Dykyi, the film's director.
Like the first part, the world of Crazy Wedding 2 will come to life and grow thanks to the efforts of FILM.UA Group and Prototype Production, and co-produced by MOZGI Entertainment. Shooting of the film will take place in Kyiv and Kyiv region during August-September.
The movie won the Ukrainian State Film Agency’s 11th pitching, securing financial support from the state. “The first part was an incredible success: the film not only paid off at the box office and became profitable, but also remains the first, whose producers returned attracted funds with interest back to Ukrainian State Film Agency” – commented Head of Ukraine State Film Agency Pylyp Illyenko.
Theatrical screens of the sequel to the highest-grossing comedy of 2018 will be released on Christmas, December 25th.
Ukrainian audience met the crazy family on October 4, 2018 for the first time. It was then that the #ComedyComedy of the Year came out for a wide Ukrainian release. Almost a year has passed, and since that the story of Vasyl Seredyuk performed by Nazar Zadniprovsky has had quite a few achievements: set a few national movie records, became the most rated TV movie in the last 10 years by major audiences, and even got a "residence permit" in several other countries: Lithuania and Romania have acquired the right to adapt the comedy.
