Romania followed the Baltic countries in acquiring the rights to Crazy Wedding comedy concept. Our Romanian counterparts got inspired and fascinated with the success of Crazy Wedding in Ukraine and decided to film their similar story. With this aim, Vertical Content acquired concept rights to produce the film’s local version based on the Ukrainian comedy.

According to previous reports, ACME Film (Lithuania) has acquired rights for local adaptation of Crazy Wedding Ukrainian comedy in Lithuania, with an option to produce Latvian and Estonian versions.
Negotiations with other countries and sales of rights to a range of platforms are ongoing.
Crazy Wedding authors are already working on creating Crazy Wedding 2. The audience will see their favorite characters and new trials and tribulations Vasyl Seredyuk has to go through. The team keeps plot details in the strictest secret.
Just a reminder: Crazy Wedding won at X-Ray Marketing Awards 2018 in Hidden Advertising of the Year nomination and received a prize for collaboration with ROZETKA, Nova Poshta, Oschadbank and Malynivka brands.
#BestComedyoftheYear was widely released in Ukraine on October 4 and as of 2018 has set two national records: box office among all Ukrainian films and amount of viewers coming to see a film produced in Ukraine. The film’s box office amounted to almost 55 million UAH; it was viewed in the cinemas by over 657 thousand people. Besides, the comedy broke the record of the previous decade and became the most popular film on television since 2009 by all main audiences. On January 1, Crazy Wedding was watched on 1+1 TV channel by 4,279,876 viewers. In total, about 9 million viewers have already seen the film on various platforms.

What the film is about: Director of district museum of local lore Vasyl Seredyuk, having sent his daughter Katya to study in France, never expected such a twist: a month ago she informed she was getting married to a French heart surgeon named François.
“The Seredyuks are a European family!” – this was the slogan everybody in the district heard personally from Vasyl. Imagine his surprise when he saw that the coveted European son-in-law is a Frenchman of African origin.
Organizing a wedding so that it never takes place seems like a brilliant idea. But when real love is in the way, the success of such plan is not a given.
