Last Saturday, Ukrainian Film School hosted the dedication of students of the new academic year: they were welcomed by the founder and head of the film school Alena Timoshenko, and master teachers of the courses told parting words.

Victor Mirsky, the master teacher of the producer course, noted that working in film is hard work and students will have to constantly overcome obstacles and make decisions.

Alexei Lamakh, the master teacher of the camera course, admitted that he believes in three things - talent, diligence, and desire, and assured that they are in everyone present.

Taras Tkachenko, the master teacher of the director's course, warned that students will have to scale up their personality.

Yaroslav Voitseshek, the master teacher of the scenario course, promised a lot of practice and new other emotions.

Maxim Mikhailichenko, the master teacher of the acting course, noted that UFS is a chance and urged to prepare to use it.

«This is our third set and this year Victor Mirsky, Yaroslav Voitseshek and Taras Tkachenko joined the school team. For us, it is very valuable, and students will be lucky to improve their skills under the guidance of professionals whose projects are known not only in Ukraine but all over the world, said Alena Timoshenko. - Also every year, together with the master teachers, the school improves its educational programs».

As a symbol of the beginning of a new stage, the graduate of the director's course of last year Sasha Starominsky, broke a plate, a piece of which was taken by each of those present for memory. Students traditionally had a tour of the FILM.UA film studio, where they saw where and with what the next ten months will work. Great importance in the school is given to practical lessons: during the course, students take off collaborative work, are present on the set and practice with partners of the school or on the projects of the film studio FILM.UA. At the end of their studies, they present their thesis papers on pitching. Each member of the jury, in which producers, writers, and directors, can choose the project they like and take it into the development.

This year, the film school enrolled 117 people, each of whom passed several stages of interviews.

Simultaneously with the adult set, training was started in the children's film school Cinema Kids at Filmmaking and Acting courses, at which children are introduced to the stages of film production and learn how to work in the frame. In total, 105 people enrolled in both courses this year, the youngest of whom is 6 years old, and the oldest is 17. The course lasts throughout the school year with the possibility of transferring to the next year, and in the process of studying, children jointly shoot a short film under the supervision of master teachers: director and graduate of the Ukrainian Film School Pavel Tsybenko, actor and director of the Theater on the Limes, Artur Artimenev.
