On November 1-8, Santa Monica holds the annual market of feature content – the American Film Market. FILM.UA Group presented Kinorob and Animagrad projects at its own suite 650 at Loews Hotel.
The headliners of the market were the feature fantasy The Stronghold (produced by Kinorob) and the animated film The Stolen Princess (in the production of Animagrad). These projects were presented not only at the suite but also during market screenings. Following the results of one of them, the rights to The Stolen Princess were pre-sold to the territory of Latin America, namely to the Ledafilms company.
The Ledafilms President, Alejandro Leda, commented on the deal: "The animation team behind Stolen Princess have proven they can deliver top quality animation. We are highly impressed by their work. The story is full of humor and wit, and we are certain the Latam audiences, children and parents alike, will love this film. We are thrilled to be part of this project".
Also, in the market, FILM.UA Group announced the pre-sale of the film The Stolen Princess thenew territories: Vietnam and Cambodia – Lightning McQueen company, Romania – Idea Film Distribution. In addition, in the territories of Poland and Iran, there will be new distributors: Monolith Films and Ideal Film respectively.
Let’s recall that earlier the screening rights to The Stolen Princess were pre-sold to China, the Middle East and North Africa, Turkey, Mongolia, South Korea, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, France and the French-speaking territories of Europe and Africa. In Ukraine, the cinema release is scheduled for March 7, distributor – Ukrainian Film Distribution, television rights – Novy TV Channel.
The Stronghold has also expanded its geography – the AFM FILM.UA Group announced the pre-selling of the screening rights to the following companies: Alfa World Movies – to show the film in India, Purple Pictures – for France and the French-speaking world, Atrium Productions KFT – for South Korea, I.C. Inter-Cinema – to show on the territory of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, at the end of October, the cinema release already occurred in Belarus, and from tomorrow on The Stronghold will be shown in the cinemas of Kazakhstan.
Let’s recall that earlier the screening rights to The Stronghold were pre-sold to Japan, Italy, and Spain. In Ukraine, the cinema release occurred on October 12, according to the results of four weekends, the box office was 18 233 889 UAH, and 261 995 tickets were sold. The film’s distribution in Ukraine continues, distributor – the Ukrainian Film Distribution company, television rights – Novy TV Channel.
In addition, the situation in the market launched a series of new negotiations – not only regarding the distribution of content but also regarding the provision of services for foreign productions on the territory of Ukraine. Ihor Klymovsky represented the Postmodern company at the AFM, held more than 100 meetings, where he presented the group's capabilities in content production, post-production, and VFX.
As early as the beginning of next year, FILM.UA Group will take part in the largest European market of full-length content – European Film Market, which will be traditionally held in Berlin on February, 15-23.
