Doctor on Call becomes the longest Ukrainian-spoken project on Ukrainian TV. Studio FILM.UA started shooting of season 4 and season 5, requested by TV Channel «Ukraine». 80 new episodes will be filmed until the end of October 2018.
In the next seasons viewers will see new exciting stories from the lives of doctors and patients in the emergency hospital. We remind that the shooting takes place in the large-scale scenery of the clinic, built in one of the pavilions of the FILM.UA studio. The main roles in the new seasons of the film will be performed by the already loved Ukrainian actors Mikhail Romanov, Irina Tkalenko, Ruslan Sokolnik, Nadezhda Levchenko and many others. The series is based on real stories, and the new character of the film, Irodiada Maksimovna, deputy dean of medicine, sent from the ministry, will become the same real. She will weave intrigues, trying to destroy the friendly team. Also a new doctor with a very uneasy character will appear in the hospital, and he will cause a storm of conflicting emotions among the regular characters.
"In the new seasons there will be new heroes, sharp conflicts and, at the same time, more humor and adventures. All who are attached to the show will not be disappointed, and new viewers will find a quality, captivating Ukrainian product for themselves", – says Anna Eliseeva, the creative producer of the project, FILM.UA Group.
"The partnership with the channel is very helpful. Elena Kanishevskaya, producer of TV Channel «Ukraine», constantly provides us with feedback and informs us about how the audience responds to the show. We see changes in the reaction every minute, for each jokes and plot twist. Such cooperation allows to create the most interesting and catchy story", – comments the project's showrunner Yulia Mishchenko.
The popularity of the second and third seasons of the first Ukrainian-spoken medical drama Doctor on Call grew during the entire broadcast period on TV Channel «Ukraine». More than 750 thousand viewers already watched the show. On the average, the Ukraine channel was the leader by the audience share among all viewers aged 4 years and older, both throughout Ukraine and in cities with population of 50 000+, on the time of the show’s broadcasting. The share of watching the series was much higher than the average daily share of the channel and showed a positive trend throughout the show (look at the attached diagram of the Doctor on Call popularity dynamics).
The rights to the show were sold to Kazakhstan, Belarus and other territories. And at last week's largest European telecommunications market MIPCOM (October 16-19), FILM.UA Distribution held a series of negotiations on the sale of the format.
Every day the emergency care hospital receives hundreds of new patients. Each one has a clinical record with conflicts and problems behind it. Sometimes it is impossible to diagnose and prescribe treatment without revealing this information. The doctors become not just witnesses but hostages to the dramas and secrets of their patients; they help them to recover and make vital decisions.
