On April 2, Ukrainian State Film Agency announced the official results of the first round for the 10th competitive selection of film projects applying for state financing. According to the results, Mom Hurries Homeanimated series made it to the second round and obtained the first place in its category, Animated Short Films.
The total number of points from the jury brought the animated series to the third highest result among 164 projects; the project will now participate in the second round. This result has confirmed yet again the high professionalism of cartoon team, the freshness of creative idea and visual finds, as well as the huge potential of project development.
“Presently we are actively preparing for project presentation in the second round of State Film Fund competitive selection,” says Olga Cherepanova, director and creative producer at Glowberry. “Mom Hurries Home is a project about making children and parents closer in the contemporary overwhelming world, about preserving magic and miracles in the family. We hope that the idea of the series will be supported both by the professional jury and the audience. We are trying to do everything possible for our cartoon to become a favorite among children and their parents.”
The second stage of competitive selection will take place on June 19-23 in Zhovten cinema.
Next week will see the opening of Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the main animation festival in the world, and Mom Hurries Home will participate in MIFA pitching taking place in the framework of this festival on June 13-16.
It is worth noting that Mom Hurries Home became the first ever Ukrainian participant of the pitching. This is a notable event both for the project and Ukrainian animation industry in general.

Note. Mom Hurries Home is a series continuing a successful brand: the book with the same title was published in Ukrainian in 2010 and very quickly became popular among children and their parents alike. The interactive version of the book for Android and IOS is also very successful and has been downloaded over 50,000 times. The book had several editions in Russia, and this year it is to be published in China.
