On May 17-26, a major film market was held under the aegis of the 70th Cannes International Film Festival.  At its own stand Riviera J13, FILM.UA Distribution presented the studio’s feature projects: The Stronghold fantasy produced by Kinorob, animation films – both in production (The Stolen Princess by Animagrad) and development (Mavka. The Forest Song by Animagrad), and Zakhar Berkut historical drama by Kinorob based on Ivan Franko’s novella with the same title.

On May 19 and 23 market screenings took place: scenes from The Stronghold and The Stolen Princess were shown on a big screen. The screenings turned out to be successful; they were visited by representatives of France, Lithuania, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, the UK, Hong Kong, Japan, and Turkey. Some negotiations were started to sell rights to new territories.

Members of FILM.UA Group delegation held meetings with potential and existing partners from all key territories. Except finished product, we offer projects in different development stages for potential co-production. International producers were genuinely interested in Mavka. The Forest Song animation feature, Zakhar Berkut historical drama, and Felix Austria, a screening of a novel by Sofia Andrukhovych.

The projects from FILM.UA, Kinorob and Animagrad were also presented in the International Village; a Ukrainian pavilion was organized there using joined efforts of key players at the Ukrainian film market. A range of events were held to popularize Ukraine on the international arena.
