FILM.UA Group struck a deal on selling Mystical Tales, a docudrama format, to the US territory. Azteca America TV network is going to deal with the adaptation and show the program to Spanish-speaking Americans. The local version will be based on the episodes from seasons 6 and 7 of the Ukrainian program; Azteca will invite local psychology and ESP experts as hosts and guests of the program. Production is planned for spring and summer this year.

Just a reminder: this is the third adaptation of the film abroad; before, the local Mystical Tales were shown in Bulgaria and Russia.

The Mystical Tales format was developed by FILM.UA Group in 2010 and has been broadcast for 6 years on the territory of Ukraine by STB channel. Seven seasons of the project have seen the light; the program share amounts to 11 per cent in peak viewing periods for 18-54 (50+) audience; and the best episodes were viewed by 1.5 million spectators (4+, all Ukraine).

What the project is about:

Each episode consists of two stories. All of them are based on real events and were simply reconstructed with the help of a film crew and talented non-professional actors.

We tried not to make our own corrections to the stories (because you cannot just invent these things), attempting instead to retell them the way we heard those from real participants of the events described or from ESP experts who worked with them. We wanted to show these events the way specific people saw and experienced them. Therefore, the audience might at times consider our stories too scary, weird of funny. But this is the way our life is.

The project involves various experts analyzing the events happening on the screen and expressing their opinions. They are psychologists, ESP and bioenergy experts, doctors and even witches. Each of them has their own vision of the event. However, we do not want our experts to fight among themselves; they simply state their positions. It is for the viewer to decide who is right and whether the story is based on a mystic experience or simple autosuggestion.
