Kinorob company presents the first trailer of Ukrainian feature fantasy film The Stronghold. The trailer can already be watched on cinema screens and at the official YouTube channel of the film. The release of the first fantasy film about Ukrainian superheroes is planned for autumn 2017.

Synopsis: A solar eclipse activates a magic time portal, and a regular schoolboy Vit'ko from the 21st century goes a thousand years back in time. It doesn’t take Vitya long to recognize the legendary bogatyrs in young Oleshko, powerful Ilya and severe Dobrynya. Their life passes in fighting cumans who try to destroy Rusichi at any cost, using both weapons and black magic. Vitya finds himself in the very midst of incredible events, battles with mythical creatures and acquires real courage.
“Fantasy genre is very difficult for production. There are not that many locations in Ukraine suitable for shooting a fantasy film. Actually we have to create these locations with the help of visual effects. We have a fantastic team of experts working on those, and each of them is truly motivated,” says Yury Prylypko, the film producer. “We have cool images for the characters, I mean fantasy ones. For example, the image of Golem. It is a force, an element impossible to defeat using standard means our characters have… With the help of costumes and decorations we have recreated an impressive historical ambience and thanks to such volume of VFX we’ll create a truly magical world full of miracles.”

The Stronghold is planned for release in autumn 2017. “Ukrainian premiere was postponed to autumn 2017 to synchronize it with the film’s international sales and also to obtain the best spot in the cinema schedules,” says Egor Olesov explaining the reason why the film release date was changed.

Just a reminder: the film based on a book with the same title by Vladimir Rutkovsky is released by B&H Film Distribution. СGI and VFX are created by Postmodern studio (Ukraine), winner of many prestigious international prizes, numerously nominated for VES (an analogue of Academy Awards for visual effects). Members of #KinoKraina initiative group, FILM.UA Group, StarLightMedia and Ukrainian State Film Agency also participate in the film development.
