89 shifts, for 6 months crew worked on the film "Contact". A mystical explosion in the quarry, stuntmen, pyrotechnics, simulated earthquakes, and the most unexpected locations appeared during the filming.
The most mystical and complex scene, the river of the dead, was shot without leaving out of borders of Kyiv - on Sovski ponds. There were also actions in a purpose-built center of paranormal phenomena, the investigative experiments, fighting, shooting and murder.
Michael Barkan, Director of the project commented: "Any acting scene requires careful work with a minimum of losses and compromise. There are limitations on the light, because we don't produce the sunrise and sunset, there are restrictions on the actors – someone must leave in order to star in some other movie. There should be someone on the set who is willing to make decisions quickly. This task is performed by the Director".
In the shooting of the film the new techniques were used, for example, specifically for the project the Osmo camera was brought. Also on the location in the quarry a robotic Milo Motion Control crane was used, which allows you to control the movement of the camera in three planes of space.
The film cast is amazing: Aleksandr Semchev, Pavel Barshak, Ekaterina Malikova, Matvey Zubalevich, Sergey Kolos, Victor Saraykin, Anna Sahaydachna, Vladimir Gladkiy, Nikolai Boklan, Vitaliy Saliy, Olha Vivchariuk, Mikhail Zhonin, Neonila Beletskaya, Galina Korneeva, Valeria Chaykovska and the legendary Andrey Smirnov, the Director of "the Belarusian station". "The Director in the role of the actor is well aware that there is only one man, who thinks about the film and it's Director. – Andrey Smirnov says. Such a crew of professionals is easy to work with".
"Andrew Sergeevich stars rarely and is very selective in the scripts. It was great joy when he agreed. It is very important when young actors face such legends. This provides not only a certain seriousness, but also wildly disciplines. – Director Michael Barkan says. – Andrey is always ready, always knows the text brilliantly, always offers options, is always on the run. Plus, he's a brilliant Director. You need to invite to play such legendary people like Andrei Sergeevich Smirnov. This is a school that is disappearing and you have to learn while you can do so."
The secret service conducts demolition work in the area of magnetic anomalies. Purely by accident, it turns out that three men are located in the explosion area: Vladimir Golenko, a criminal, Oleg Malinin, a photographer, and Benedict Tartakovsky, a failed writer. As a result of the explosion, a strange connection begins between those three: a photographer Malinin can read the criminal Golengo’s mind, even see the world around him with the criminal’s eyes, and the writer Tartakovsky can entirely control Golenko’s actions and communicate with Malinin remotely. Tartakovsky, having Golenko come into his full possession, decides to use him to revenge everybody who had ever stood on his way before.
