Magic happens on the FILM.UA studio every single day but in winter it reaches its highest point.
At the beginning of December all offices and buildings of the film studio become decorated: designers set and decorate Christmas trees, you can hear Frank Sinatra’s voice on every corner and the discussion about holidays plan is the second most popular subject after deadlines, of course.
The film studio has its own workflow atmosphere set and done: some shoot is in full swing while others finish the installations.
The series "Sniffer" crew drove in the largest pavilion No. 1 a few weeks ago and they promise that in season 3 the audience is going to see something special.
On the area of 1200 square meters we already built the loft of the main character with elevator, private laboratory and the large panoramic windows, a bathroom of the times of our grandparents with incredible bathtub. The interior of the helicopter cabin was also made as well as the van for the surveillance of employees of SBR and also a kind of decoration resembling of a chamber of torture the purpose of which may yet remain a secret.
In pavilion No. 7 is now home to the French secret project and more recently the pavilion was welcoming the visitors from all over Ukraine, wishing to pass two practical intensive courses from the best teachers of the famous American New York Film Academy (NYFA) film school. The result has pleased not only the organizers of the MRM and 200 students, but they also speakers as well. Lydia Cedrone, the head of the production Department of feature films for NYFA masters program in Los Angeles branch office and Paul Brown, writer, producer and multiple nominee for the "Emmy" and "Golden globe" awards, the winner of the "Edgar" award given by the Association of authors of detective fiction in America (Mystery Writers of America).
Pavilions No.4 and No.5 with an area of 900 square meters are taken by the project series "Finding Hope" and "Dr.Baby Dust". A 12-episode dramatic film " Finding Hope " has to be finished by the end of 2016: the main scenes were filmed on natural locations and the house of Highness, the main protagonist, was just rebuilt in the pavilion No.4.
The shooting of season 3 of the series " Dr.Baby Dust " on the contrary will run until May 2017. In just a month and a half more than 20 locations within the modern innovative clinics were created: operating rooms, wards, laboratories, cabinets of the main characters. Shooting is in full swing and the audience will never learn that they were held in the winter.
Another hospital is functioning for more than a year in hall No.6, where they filmed the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the series "Doctor on Call". During this time, the heroes had everything: passion, birth, love, break ups and holidays. Only pity is that they do not match with the calendar.
And if in pavilions the builders, actors and crew have their own atmosphere, it takes only to go out to see that the New Year is coming very soon. The lights of the “Delicious” coffee kiosk shine bright, the large snowflakes are covering the surface and the sky is filled with stars.
Another year in the row the Cinema Village is the most magical place in the studio with its wooden houses of the 19th century and the fortress of the Kyivan Rus covered with snow.
In winter, only the most desperate shoot there (e.g., TeenSpirit production for the project "Heads and Tails/Orel I Reshka"), and when there are no shootings, the place is quiet and comfortable. Life boils only in the far corner of the area where the construction of a new location - a modern cottage of 130 square meters comes to an end. The project is implemented in cooperation with the TV channel "Cottage".
Also the other important areas of the Studio are actively developing: post-production, animation, sound and of course, events.
In the Studio "Animagrad" the hard work on a feature animation projects are boiling: "The Stolen Princess" will soon introduce the first teaser, and "Mavka. The Forest Song" is only starting its way to the big screen, carefully studying the treasures and secrets of the Ukrainian mythology, ethnography and visual culture to create an authentic plot and a new animation language.
POSTMODERN continues to dub the Hollywood blockbusters and other major projects into Ukrainian language. In addition, the films of the production of Group, "The Stronghold" and "Polina" are in the postproduction process, the premiere of which is scheduled for 2017, and the "Step Dan" series is on the postproduction as well. The creator of the visual effects for the "The Stronghold" is POSTMODERN Digital. In addition to this project, the company works with many customers from the CIS, Poland, India and even New Zealand. The DCU continues to produce digital copies of a large number of rental movies for Ukrainian theaters and develops promising areas of VR, VR/AR mixed reality.
Among the last works of the DCU is the first Ukrainian documentary in 360 format about the conflict in the East of Ukraine presented within the frames of the exhibition "What is your name?", which is a part of a massive campaign of UNICEF, that draws attention to the problems of children and families of forced settlers. Another company that participated in the preparation of this exhibition — SignalRed, created specifically for the event Ukraine's first AR creative project for children "School of the future". The project involved real drawings of children, who were dreaming of how they see the future and also technology augmented reality, thanks to which the future is visible today. In addition, work is continuing on dubbing the most popular TV projects at the Tak Treba Production Studio. Among others, we are working on these unconditional tv hits as the TV series "Homeland," animation "South Park" "Family Guy", "Simpsons". Also in the Studio there is children's school of voice acting and dubbing, whose young students are studying oratory skill, scenic speech, as well as are getting better in the dubbing works and sound recordings.
And FILM.UA Events, meanwhile, taking the opportunity and using skills and connections, fills in your calendar of events for December 31. No weekends, no free minutes, and they are invariably happy and smily. Because happy is the one who makes other people happy. Especially in this magical time.
