FILM.UA Faculty presents two practical intensive courses from a well-known American film school, New York Film Academy (NYFA).
An introductory lecture will take place on December 2, and the intensive courses on screenwriting and producing will be held on December 2, 3 and 4, 2016.
The lectures will be accompanied by a series of exercises for immediate application of acquired knowledge in practice.
Participation in these specialized workshops will be equally beneficial both for novices and for professionals interested in acquiring new knowledge about work principles of producers and screenwriters according to American film and television standards.
The screenwriting workshop is also suitable for professional actors and general audience interested in acting as several modules include acting elements.

Intensive producing course includes practical exercises on project creation and development – i.e. brainstorming along with creative producing, financing, marketing and distribution, project pitching, business plan, TV project Bible, production management, filming crew work – hierarchy and logistics, calendar plan, and budgeting.

INTENSIVE SCREENWRITING COURSE
Intensive screenwriting course includes practical exercises on writing and performing monologues, creating a play in a day and the following topics: film concept – how to capture the audience, how to draw out emotions towards the character, script structure, theme, climax, screenwriting for television, “hooks”, dialogues and subtext.

Producing workshop trainer: Lydia Cedrone: head of feature films production department at master programs in LA branch; previously, head of producing department in New York Film Academy. Lydia graduated with an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. Besides, she obtained a BA in Economics at Boston College. Lydia Cedrone has over twenty years of experience in film industry. She worked in such companies as The Walt Disney Co., Trimark Pictures and Savoy Pictures; for two years, she successfully cooperated with Michael Mann, director and producer. In particular, Lydia managed production processes for Ali and The Insider. She developed and produced two feature films, including The Betrayed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Screenwriting workshop trainer: Paul Brown: screenwriter and producer. Lecturer at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Author of more than thirty scripts with numerous nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe; winner of Edgar prize given by Mystery Writers of America. Having worked in cinema for more than twenty years, Paul Brown wrote scripts for such series as The X-Files, Quantum Leap, Pacific Blue, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. He also was a co-writer and producer for Heaven’s Rain. Among his latest works there is a script for a Disney film Camp Rock with the participation of Jonas Brothers band, a box office hit both in America and Europe. |
