The filming period of Step Dan (adaptation of "Step Dave", a New Zealand format), a 16-episode dramatic comedy, has just been finished. For as long as three months, two film crews have worked on this project simultaneously. One of them, headed by director Kristina Sivolap, worked on the stage with a massive set of a two-storey bar, beauty salon, and main protagonists' apartments. The other crew, headed by director Irina Gromozda, worked on location. Main cast was Stas Tikunov, Natalia Nozdrina, Tatiana Orlova, Yaroslava Gumenyuk, Veronika Luk'yanenko, Evgeniy Lebedin, Daria Tregubova, Nikita Tarasov, Lasha Ramishvili, Julia Takshyna and many others.

"This is an original, exciting, unhackneyed story... There certainly have been some classical French, Italian movies where women had young lovers. But for a modern youth comedy - this is something brand new. I believe this one will be very exciting, - says Stas Tikunov, who plays Dan. - It seems to me that there will be viewers who had experienced this before. Ones who dared and moved to the love side like this. When there are obstacles to love, when a young man falls in love with a girl much older than him, when she has three children, and he has absolutely nothing to his name, not one foot on the floor. But he loves her so much he'll go to all lengths."

Synopsis: Their romance started with a typical one night stand. Dan has always had good fortune in his life. He is a twenty-four-year-old who is handsome, witty and has great success with the ladies—which he takes as a given. Tina—is a thirty-nine-year-old who is a successful business woman and mother of three. They met under very unusual circumstances, but continued their story in the most traditional way—a date, followed by sex, followed by zero commitments. Such an arrangement satisfied them both, until Dan realizes he is madly in love. This raises a series of questions. Can Dan become a father for Tina’s children? How do they deal with the grandmother—who immediately hates Dan for his young age? How will Tina’s family react to such an obvious mésalliance?

"I was at once attracted to the bold script idea. Not that I ever played any roles like this. My character Tina has three children, and I was curious to try her shoes on, for I've only got one child. The story has several true-to-life situations and there is a lot to play there, - says Natalia Nozdrina, the movie's leading lady. – I like it about my heroine's character that after all of her life experience Tina showed no fear to exposing herself to a man again, acting very sincere about it. If I were her, I would not be able to stay so calm and sober when dealing with situations she faces. Tina and myself are very different from each other."

It was Nikita Tarasov who played Valera the crybaby. "I was mostly attracted to this movie because this is a love story. Unfortunately, love and relationship is something I am offered to play very rarely. What I usually do is either whip cream or sign military bulletins, or work as a maniac killer, says the actor. - But in "Step Dan " I've not just got love relationship, but twisted love triangles! Actually, we've got a lot in common, Valera and myself. It seemed to me there is nothing really to play around here for me, for this is very similar to what my real life represents. For instance, let's take one of Julia's cues: "You are so wonderful, kind, beautiful, and yet absolutely lonely. Why? Are women blind?" This is what they say about me in my real life. I am not married, I have never been married... So, the role is very touching and soulful."

What the story will actually be like, we will learn when it is premiered in 2017.
