Tonight at 9:35 PM don’t miss the premiere of 8-episode drama Favorite Teacher produced by FILM.UA.

“It is a story about lifetime values which will hopefully never go out of fashion! It is about deep and true love, about an attempt to live in dignity, about strong friendship and sense of duty. It is about overcoming one’s fears and social limits, which might sometimes choke the delicate human soul and destroy its capacity to love, breathe and feel freely,” says Alina Sergeyeva playing the lead role. “This story has lots of plot lines, they are all intertwined, the characters are contradictory in their actions, they cannot be called unmistakably good or bad! After reading the first several scenes I decided that I want to participate.”

What the series is about: When a new teacher starts working at school, the life of an 11th grader Ignat Kalinin changes once and for all. He understands at first sight that Ulyana Sergeyevna is the love of his life. However, the young teacher doesn’t take the boy’s feelings seriously…

This is how an academic year passes: first love, first life lessons, first trials and hope for real life after the last school bell. However, at the graduation party a fight ensues between best friends and boxers Kostya and Ignat. A blow, then another… How will the graduation end?

Prison and betrayal, jealousy and aspiration for vengeance, sense of guilt and an attempt to live on… How can he manage it? Ignat’s first school love gives him strength. But will the young man be able to carry this beautiful feeling through all trials and tribulations? And who is responsible for the broken destinies of the characters?

“Initially I became interested because the lead character has scenes with ultimate fighting. Honestly. When I read the script up until these fights,   became terribly excited. So freaking cool, I thought. I grew up on Fight Club, Snatch, all these films. I watched them and imagined myself a fighter just like those… And here there was a real opportunity to try and test myself,” says Oleg Gaas playing the role of Ignat. “Then I read on and understood that there are more complicated things to that role. Playing a guy who was in prison, playing an experience he has after being discharged, and this experience did not just change him, it made a totally different person out of him in many respects. This is much harder than swinging fists.”
