“This is the first time we exhibit at the Marché du Film with our own stand,” tells Igor Storchak, FILM.UA Distribution CEO. “Certainly, our key projects for the following year are The Stolen Princess and The Stronghold(FILM.UA Group production). We have already presented these features at the European Film Market in Berlin and at the FILMART in Hong Kong. Both projects are extremely popular and demanded among the buyers, so we sense, that we're moving in the right direction. We are going to show more footage video of these films at the Marché, and will also present our new animated feature Mavka. The Forest Song, which is currently in development. A brand new poster with Mavka, the key character of this fantasy story, will be presented for the first time at our stand here in Cannes.”
Kateryna Vyshnevska, Head of Development and Co-Productions and Egor Olesov, FILM.UA Group Producer are looking for new co-production opportunities, observing world industry trends and offering the post-production services to the Eastern producers at the market.
“Here at the Marché du Film we’re planning not only to present the feature animation produced by FILM.UA Group, but also to acquire the animated films of other companies to distribute all rights for it in the territory of Ukraine. Every family with children will agree, that there is never too much of high quality feature animation coming to theatres, and these high quality films are not necessarily have to be produced by the majors,” Kateryna Vyshnevska shares her plans for the market. “Plus, FILM.UA Group production teams are developing around 20 projects of different types and genres. At the Marché du Film we’re planning to discuss the co-production opportunities in these projects with our potential partners,” she adds. “One more strategic activity of our Group for this market is offering our technical services – actually this activity sets us apart from other productions. We offer full post-production services, adaptation and localization of content, technical support for broadcasting channels. We successfully provide these services for Eastern Europe productions, and I’m quite sure, that now we’re ready to meet the expectations and demands of the Western market.”
