Shooting of a new reality show "Patrol officers"

People talk about them, trust them and put hope on them. They protect the peace and security of Ukrainians 24/7. But not everyone can imagine how much effort it takes to maintain order in the streets of our cities. ICTV TV Channel together with FILM.UA and National Police of Ukraine started shooting a reality "Patrol officers" - a unique project about the everyday life of the patrol police in a new for Ukrainian television genre of observational factual reality.

In every episode of the program "Patrol officers" film crew, together with the police units will patrol the streets in different cities of Ukraine - Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv, Lviv. Along with the Police viewers will witness pursuits, arrests, traffic accidents and other dangerous situations, will find out about the duties, responsibilities and powers of the new police force. All episodes of the program is a picture of an everyday life of these policemen, which is gathered on the basis of reportage photography and video materials from the police officers' cameras.

"Despite the fact that observational factual reality genre has long been popular around the world, for the Ukrainian TV channels it is new and has not been tested, and therefore our program is unprecedented and unique to the Ukrainian media space. Now, when our media market is changing so rapidly and taking on new challenges in the new environment, the audience needs new and interesting formats. And we are glad that, thanks to the courage and firmness of ICTV, we finally have the opportunity to present one of them to Ukrainian audience", - says Iryna Kostyuk, producer of the project.

"Patrol officers" is an opportunity to see the new police at work: from taking a call and clarifying the circumstances to the interaction with other departments of National Police. The program will explore and analyze whether the new police structure is more efficient and all citizens are equal before the law. 

"Creating a police patrol - one of the visible and rapid reforms embodied in the last year. This is an important innovation because it directly affects millions of Ukrainians in everyday life. Personal safety, protection from crimes against life, health and property - these are the criteria by which each of us will judge the effectiveness of the entire law enforcement system. The credibility of the new police force today is quiet high, and we want to reveal in detail how the police work off this social advance. Another object of the "Patrol officers" is to show that the partnership between citizens and police officers is not only possible but also is necessary, as it is in Europe", - says Aleksandr Bogutsky, CEO and President of ICTV. 

It is also an opportunity for each viewer to follow the reform of the country's law-enforcement system, to learn more about the rights and duties of both patrol officers and citizens, as well as to understand the role that citizens can play in establishing order.
