On December 15th, within OIFF Winter Film Market, FILM.UA Group presented its theatrical releases for 2016-2017. Among them was the first animated feature film "The Stolen Princess", produced by FILM.UA and Animagrad.
Participants of the film markets screened an exclusive two-minute cut of working materials. Also, it was stated that Novy channel acquired the TV rights to animated feature film "The Stolen Princess". The pre-sale of an animated project at such an early stage of production is a unique experience for Ukrainian market.
"I read different kinds of scripts. In very rare cases, I come across something I really like. However, in the case of "The Stolen Princess", it was simply impossible to break away from the script. I wish the project a bright future. Novy channel will make its best to give our viewers the pleasure to plunge into the world of good fairy tales, - said Vladimir Lokotko, CEO of Novy channel. - In general, animation is a modern trend in the Ukrainian film industry. This kind of art is highly demanded by the audience. Today, only strong and mature companies like Animagrad and FILM.UA can create a high-level animation content, as in the case of "The Stolen Princess".

Now the production process has reached its active stage. Work on the script and characters' Bible is completed, work continues on the animation of the approved scenes, - says Egor Olesov, producer of the project. We have already shown our project in Los Angeles at American Film Market, and even at this early stage it has attracted sufficient attention of colleagues and potential distributors. We believe that this animated film will succeed in international markets".
"The Stolen Princess": This breathtaking story happened in times of valiant knights, beautiful princesses and sorcerers. Fate had it for a young traveling bard Ruslan to meet the King’s daughter Mila. In spite of different social standings our heroes has found a lot to discuss and to share and shortly fell in love. But their happiness couldn’t last long because Mila was magically kidnapped by Chernomor the sorcerer.
Release of "The Stolen Princess" is scheduled for 2017.
The film will premiere on Novy Channel six months after its theatrical release.
"The Stolen Princess" is the first project of Animagrad's series of animated feature film releases. The studio is also working on the production of such animated feature films as "Mavka. The Forest Song", "Snow Republic", "Robinson" and "Roksolana".
