Children Kinofest announced its competition programme

Film Festival for Children and Adolescents "Children Kinofest", which takes place from May 29 to June 7 in 14 cities of Ukraine, announced its program. The international competition includes seven European films for young audience. The winner is chosen by a direct voting. Entrance to the shows in all cities are free, you can pass the pre-registration on the website of the festival.

Also Cinema Kids will hold free workshops at the festival.

"Children Kinofest" opening film "Song of the Sea", a story about a girl who has the magical ability to turn into a seal. The main inspiration of the creators of "Songs of the Sea" became Celtic myths and legends. Irish film was this year Oscar nominee for best animated film.

The competition programme of the festival presents films from Denmark, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Holland, Ireland and Norway for children of all ages. Entries will present a variety of genres and styles of children European cinema: from the new film adaptation of "Pinocchio" and film mix about a superhero boy to stories about young love and young stars of jazz. In addition to international competition, the audience will be able to see the masterpieces of the national animation by "UkrAnimaFilm" and the classic films of the great comedian Buster Keaton. The majority of free festival tickets is distributed among displaced families from the eastern regions and Crimea, orphans and children with disabilities. The festival is held in Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kiev, Krivoy Rog, Lutsk, Lviv, Mariupol, Nikolaev, Odessa, Kharkiv and Kherson.

In 2015, "Children Kinofest" will be held for the second time. This year official event representative is Dmitry Shurov, musician and composer, lead singer of Pianoboy. The mission of the festival - to popularize the art of cinema for children of all ages and social groups.
