FILM.UA Distribution has sold the format of docudrama "Mystical Tales" (FILM.UA Television) in Bulgaria. In March, Nova channel premiered the first local version of the show. At the moment, an agreement was signed to produce one season of "Mystical Tales".
The largest Bulgarian company Oldschool Productions will handle production of a local version of the project. "Representatives of the Bulgarian production themselves contacted us, inspired by the success of the project on Ukrainian television - says Elena Malkova, producer at FILM.UA Television. - Previously, there were no such projects on the Bulgarian TV. Negotiations for the sale of the format began in mid-February 2015, and March 12 the first episode of the program was aired".
This is not the first local version of Ukrainian format on the international market. An adapted version of the format was aired in Hungary. Also FILM.UA Distribution signed a cooperation agreement with the Belgian distributor Crazy Cow, which presents the format in Scandinavia, Benelux, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.
Now FILM.UA Television is working on post-production of the 7th season of "Mystical Tales", which will premiere this spring. Premiere of the 6th season took place on STB channel in January 2015. First episode reached 1,4 million viewers, the share of the show among 18-54 audience (50K+) was 8.61% and a 3.01% rating.
Each episode consists of two 20-minute stories based on true unrelated events. Stories (reconstructions of the events shot in documentary style) begin and end with host's introductions, also they include commentaries of experts.
The project is released since 2010, 7 seasons which is 140 episodes have been already shot. Seasons 1-5 were produced by Activ Vision for FILM.UA, seasons 6-7 were produced by FILM.UA Television.
