An open workshop before the start of the new course at Acting school traditionally holds one of its teachers - Mikhail Hrinchenko. During thecourse, he conducts special training for future actors, allowing them not to play the role, but to find necessary emotions and feelings, and to use them in the given circumstances.

- Mikhail, you work as a TV psychologist. Tell me more about your job?

To be honest, it's a hard question. I myself do not always know exactly what I'm doing. I spent a lot of time studying psychology, but TV psychologist is not what we usually mean when we talk about psychology. It's kind of a different form of activity. I assume that there is such a direction as television psychology. And as part of this television psychology, you can speak more specifically about employment. But on its own television psychology differs from the academic and practical psychology. Now there is a lot of different directions in psychology and being a psychologist is a kind of a trend. On meetings or interviews, I usually call myself a watchman, casting manager, administrator, but not a psychologist, not to confuse people.

- How did you get on TV? Have you received a special education?

We worked in the center of psychological care. One Ukrainian producer offered us to assist in the selection of participants for the "Survivor". At that time we didn't know how to do it. This project was a co-production with Russia. So we agreed, we involved a large number of friends and experts, and all together engaged in the process of selection. Soon after that I started to receive invitations from various channels and projects.

- What special techniques do you use?

Now I use only my experience. Tests, for example, are quite narrow in their application. It is possible to determine any quality or condition of the person, they are applicable in a conventional life, normal state, but not in TV projects. Television projects often require different forms. This can only be understood on the basis of experience.

- Are there any techniques to become more successful in dealing with a large audience?

Of course. Acting school aims at it. It teaches to define yourself in relation to situations in which you find yourself. What is more important? What quality you can use to a master your temper in relation to the audience? Being an actor means self-knowledge, self-understanding and self-representation. He feels his body and understands it. And he definitely knows his behavior in situations in which he finds himself. He is effective because he correctly applies his knowledge.
