FILM.UA and Okean Elzy completed the shooting of the film about the cult Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy.
Its twentieth anniversary Okean Elzy had to celebrate in a difficult moment for the country. And it was them, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk and his fellow musicians, who at some point became a symbol of unification, unity of the nation. Events of the past year have been dashed through the plot of the film, as well as the stories of our contemporaries about their favorite musical group, own aspirations, hopes, life realities and point of view...Not only musicians and fans of the group have become the main characters, but all of us - citizens of Ukraine, that goes through great events. The real story.
The film will use carefully documented concerts of the anniversary tour, which took place this summer and has collected millions of viewers, candid interviews of musicians, as well as unique archives collected by Okean Elzy during the twenty years of its existence.
"The film will have a lot of music and songs, but he will not be similar to the classic concert film. We have another task. I want to watch the band leader, learn all the secrets of this craft, bring his face as close as possible - says director of the film Mr. Bukovsky. - Talking about the events taking place in our country - they will be reflected in the film. Anyway, our movie - it's a portrait of generation and time in which we are destined to live. And you can't choose the time. Our work the audience will evaluate in theaters. I hope we won't disappoint".
The film will be released in the spring of 2015.
