Ukrainian production company FILM.UA has agreed an international distribution partnership with Belgium’s Crazy Cow.
The agreement will see Crazy Cow distribute docu-drama Mystical Tales (6×44′) and factual entertainment series History of Criminalistics (115×45′) to broadcasters across Scandinavia as well as in Benelux, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.
Crazy Cow, which is headed by MD Michael Daemen, will also look after the Kiev-based production firm’s shows in all French-speaking territories around the world.
The distributor is based in Brussels and was founded by Daemen in 2007. It works with broadcasters including M6 in France, Mediaset in Italy and UK pubcaster the BBC, and specialises in drama and comedy as well as fact ent and lifestyle formats.
Kateryna Vyshnevska, FILM.UA’s head of development and coproductions, said the agreement would enable its programming to receive “maximum exposure and pitches. Crazy Cow has experience selling Russian-language content to Scandinavia, so it seemed like a natural fit.”
The deal is part of Film.UA’s attempts to diversify its operations, with the company also seeking new coproduction partners for drama projects in Western, Central and Eastern Europe.
