A girl named Masha who has lost her mother is cared for by kind neighbors and her mom’s best friend. Friends and family have gotten to calling the little girl Swallow. However, life in a quiet town changes when the girl decides to find her real dad.
Masha has photos and snips of information about her two possible fathers, Tolik and Viktor. The little girl writes touching letters to them and invites them for a personal meeting. Each one claims he is Masha’s real dad. But who is her actual biological father? Is it a hooligan and a fraudster Tolik with total lack of responsibility, or a shy and intelligent Viktor?
