Galina’s son Kostia died in a car accident a year ago, but the mother refuses to believe that her son is dead and prefers thinking that he went missing. Her grief goes away only when police finds a man suffering from amnesia who strongly resembles Kostia. Having seen him, Galina recognises Kostia and takes him back home keeping it a secret even from Kostia’s ex-wife, Kate.
Kate tries to find out the truth. When Galina is away, she comes to her apartment and tries to speak to the stranger through the door. He doesn’t recognise her, she doesn’t recognise his voice. But suffering from loneliness and guilt all this time, Kate doesn’t care about these details, she is happy for the first time within a year. By pure chance she finds a key from Galina’s apartment and opens the door. However, the stranger she sees is not Kostia…
Yet, the story ends with a happy end.
