In FILM.UA's pavilions continues work on a sequel of audience’s favorite series "Dr. Baby Dust". The main intrigue of the second season - new doctor Platon Zemtsov, who will replace Roman Shirokov, and what changes await the team due to his appearance. Looking ahead, I would say that instead of Dr. Shirokov two doctors will appear in the series, Dr. Lisa will have a whirlwind affair, and relationship between Dr. Vita and Dr. Kvitko will develop not quite as viewers would like to. In addition, viewers can get acquainted with the new hospital workers.

Visiting the set didn’t help me understanding all the twists and turns of the plot, so I went to the creative producer of the "Dr. Baby Dust" Vladimir Issat to find our more details:
- Why the main characters had to be replaced?
- Actor Ilya Noskov had either personal, or production reasons, and he decided to say no to us and Muscovites, who invited him to the project in favor of theatrical activity in St. Petersburg. He is preparing for a premiere and the role he always wanted to play. Of course, he has put us in an awkward position, so we had to change the concept: the main strategic direction of the series, relation to the situation, to our characters, drama as a whole. Therefore, in the new season, we have decided to introduce two characters instead of one. If you think about our Shirokov was a one-man band - he was a fertility specialist, gynecologist, and a wonderful man - a kind of cinematic ideal. He embodied at least two characters. One - suffering, emotional, and the second - a cheerful, everything comes natural to him. In the new season, we decided to divide these qualities, and we begin with the fact that a person appears in the hospital, who doesn’t look like a doctor, in fact, suffering from a physical ailment
- Limping?
- No. He has problems with his back: once he suffered a serious injury and is now suffering from severe pain. At the time he left his native city, in order to escape from the old problems and start life anew. He stabs himself analgesic drugs, hoping that nobody will find out, but his secret will be revealed...
- It reminds me of someone.
- Of course, Dr. House’s laurels seduce all the performers of our male roles. But only to some extent.
- I think they seduce everyone, because the series was a hit.
- I must admit, there is some analogy. That is, in the second season a quite grim, suffering, rather strange man, who, as a talented gynecologist, rejects the principles of reproduction, will appear. Moreover, he does not like women.
- And the second one?
- Second will appear later - playboy, a lover of women, wine and playing cards. But despite it he deals with reproduction quite successfully. On this basis, the conflict appears, however, it will not be pronounced, because this is not what our story is about. But it will be a clear antithesis - a young, cheerful, loving doctor from a military family, a former military doctor.
- I’m already intrested…
- But viewers will have to taste a portion of misanthropy. Maybe we'll risk, but we count on our audience, and it will not leave us, but will accept game conditions. In addition, we changed the format. If the first season was devoted exclusively to the problems of vertical character (individual stories of individual patients), here we have to intensify horizontally - taking into account the wishes of viewers. Many have criticized the fact that relationship between the leading characters were not fully shown.
- So, the action will not be focused on the patients?
- I can’t say that we have completely rejected this concept - each episode will continue to be devoted to a vertical history. But we have increased the horizontal, and now we are actively developing relations between doctors. Moreover, the negative characters from the first season will be justified a bit. If earlier Dumansky was dishonorable, he was dishonorable to the end. And here we decided to fix it up a bit - not to make him white and fluffy, but somehow justify, show the audience his story. We show rather complicated relations between Dr. Kvitko and Vita Igorevna: in the last season two lonelinesses met, celebrated the wedding, and then something goes wrong, they can’t deal with each other, and that the audience will also empathize.
- And what about new female characters?
- A new doctor will appear: in a man's company there’s supposed to be a lady that will make men nervous, fall in love and so on. Here we introduce a character - judging from the first experience, the actress Julia Agafonova fit quite well. In addition, to help Vita Igorevna appears a young nurse - biker, who is well-versed in contemporary music, rides a bike, talks in slang. Yet she is a talented girl who is seriously engaged in medicine.
- For what viewer you are shooting the second season? Here I am listening to you, and I think that it is for a younger audience.
- We focus on a specific channel, which is a customer of the second season. And the audience of the channel - is the entire audience, because the first season of a sudden was viewed by a young audience - not 18 +, but 6 +. Why? Because next to the adult characters, there are their children, younger brothers and sisters and so on. We are seriously checking the story, and once in a series appeared, for example, a 15-year-old girl, share of young audience TV viewing increased. This is seriously interested us and the channel: in general, we have not shifted, but the second season will have a lot more stories with youth. If we used to focus on housewives and women older than 40 years, now we will drag up a younger audience.
- What about men? Have they watched?
- Surprisingly, they have. On the forums, many spectators wrote: Well, that’ ok with me, my oldest daughter, but my husband watches! And if he doesn’t not have time to watch it on television, he searches for it in the internet ... I can’t say that men just rushed to watch this story ("Dr. Baby Dust", in any case, is a female TV series), but there was interest. Especially among men, who are about to become fathers.
- The reason I asked about men: it seems that the doctor-misogynist was created precisely to attract a male audience.
- In fact, in our serial life it is important that the product is loved by women – it’s the main share of TV viewing. If men will be attracted, well, that’s good, even though it wasn’t our initial aim. What happens next is uncertain, no one can predict.
- When the second season starts?
- In the beginning of March. Now the channel is rebroadcasting the series to prepare the audience, it will be completed in February, and then - a couple of weeks of active promotion. Channel acts strategically right.

Overall, the picture is clear. But I decided to talk to Mikhail Khimichev about his main character.
- Tell us about your character. It is true that he is a misanthrope?
- Let's start with the reason he does not like women. He has a difficult fate, his beloved one cheated on him: despite strong vigilance, internal rethinking – what is a woman in a man's life? He is afraid of them, he is quiet closed, but he does not hate them. I decided that my character is no longer interested in personal life of patients, but if there’s a grain inside them, then it should be. So he doesn’t perform abortions, he stands for life. And, if a pregnant woman faces a problem, he is engaged in the situation, because it is important for him that she has given birth and stayed alive. As you can see, on the one hand, he’s a bit of misogynistic, but on the other hand, in cases of force majeure, he becomes humane - helps patients, caring for them.
- Will he have love affairs?
- Of course, some kind of love story will eventually appear.
- You can see for yourself some parallels with Dr. House?
- When I first came here – for a meeting, trying on costumes, I immediately asked the director Anton Hoida, "Is there a prototype of my hero?" He said, “I will not be original, you will look like Dr. House ". Well, I watched a few episodes of "House" and realized that they have something in common: hard fate for example. But in general, they are quite different. What is important for House? He was not interested in patients, he was interested in the illness, it was interesting for him to cure it. And I'm not interested in private life of patients, but if there is a problem, I’ll "turn on" my humanity and I will save them.
-Your hero has a spinal injury. This will be visible externally?
- Of course.
- In the form of lameness?
- Well, no, he does not have a stick (laughs). His has constant pain attacks, and it is shown to the viewer. There's even an episode when he injects himself strong painkillers, and there even will be an attempt to give up drugs, because someone starts to dig up on him.
- How did you join the crew? They’ve worked together over the first season.
- Well, everything went great, because I have met Anton Hoida before, when I came here. And somehow it caught on quickly. And it really helped me: when there is a director who understands you, when everything is being discussed, and there is mutual sympathy, then everything else happens fast.
- I've heard that in the new season your character changes.
- Yes, she becomes more delicate, feminine, amorous – it can be seen even by her haircut. First, she becomes chief doctor, secondly, she is having an affair with one general.
- Will he have love affairs?
- Of course, some kind of love story will eventually appear.
