After Marché du Film online film market, Ukrainian films are coming to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
British company Signature has acquired rights in The Rising Hawk historical action film in the United Kingdom, and Ireland. The film will also appear in Australia and New Zealand, distributed by Eagle.
“The keen interest in Ukrainian films, shown by our international colleagues, proves once again that we can produce competitive content, and it’s sought after globally. The expanding geography of The Rising Hawk is a stellar example of it. Ukrainian films find their way abroad, even in the challenging time of the global lockdown. It is delightful, for sure,” – comments Evgeniy Drachov, International Sales Manager at FILM.UA Distribution.
Let us remind that the first two days of the film market were successful as well: French distributor TradeMedia acquired the rights in Pulse sports drama film, and Italian company Eagle Pictures Spa became a distributor for The Rising Haw, and The Stolen Princess.
Earlier, the rights in The Rising Hawk were purchased for the USA and Canada (Shout Factory), Spain (Flins & Piniculas), Germany and germanophone Europe (Capelight Pictures). In February, the film premiered in The Baltic States, Lithuania Latvia and Estonia, where it’s distributed by Volga company. The Ukrainian release happened in October, last year.
