• 10.10.2019

FILM.UA Distribution together with Kyiv Metro launch a unique subway train dedicated to the premiere of a historical action film ‘The Rising Hawk’. Passengers can encounter the train on the Obolon-Teremky (blue) line of the Metro beginning from October 10th. It will bring to the public's attention some interesting facts about the creation of the film.

The project will become a part of a wide-range campaign ‘To the Cinema by Metro’, initiated by FILM.UA Group. The train will feature informational and educational materials pertaining to ‘The Rising Hawk’ film based on the novel ‘Zakhar Berkut’ by Ivan Franko. They will tell about the creation of the movie, from the novel to the film adaptation, and about the professionals that took part in its creation.

This visual content is intended to turn attention to Ukrainian history and literature, to demonstrate that our common cultural heritage can take a more modern form and can be timely and interesting now. Specifically, how the novel ‘Zakhar Berkut,’ written 137 years ago, can hold true today.

This novel is included in the seventh-grade school program in Ukraine and to External independent evaluation. So, the informational and educational visual material this train is decorated with will have yet another utility: to entertain schoolchildren and to show them that classic literature is not boring, that the story can be told in enticing and curious ways. And of course, to interest them in the film and its source.

We are convinced that the trip on the subway should be not just safe and fast but also interesting and educational for our passengers,” – says Natalka Makohon, Advisor to the Chief of Kyiv Metropoliten.

The metro is the most popular way of transportation, and the cinema is the most popular visual art. They are destined to meet at some point. We are very grateful to the Kyiv Metro for our long-lasting and fruitful cooperation in the popularization of Ukrainian cinema. We hope that the time when people will go to see Ukrainian films just as casually as they use the Kyiv subway is almost upon us, – tells Polina Tolmachova, PR & Marketing Director for FILM.UA Group. –  With a great pleasure, we open up what is happening behind the scenes in our filming process. It’s awesome that people can find out something new and useful while taking the train. There are many surprises ahead for Kyiv residents and guests of the city, so follow our social media and don't forget to go to the cinema by Metro!”
