On May 14, the 4th season of medical drama "Doctor in Call", a successful joint project of FILM.UA studio and "Ukraine" TV channel, premiered on "Ukraine" TV channel.

The series has already become a record holder: “Doctor On Call" is the longest Ukrainian-language television product. Viewers have already experienced three seasons - 121 episodes focusing on the everyday of doctors.

The overwhelming success of the series encouraged its creators to produce two more seasons. Now, the doctors’ life is about to change dramatically. We are waiting for 80 more episodes of unexpected plot twists and turns!

...Life goes on at the filming set. Right after filming scenes in the operating room, the crew moves on to the reception, where our favorite characters are about to gather. The head doctor Ivan Petrovich, and Dr. Nadezhda Pavlenko and Gursky, are all here, as well as new characters...

The showrunner of “Doctor on Call”, Julia Mishchenko, tells us what's going to happen to the lead characters.

“In the new season, a female antagonist will join our team of kind doctors, and she will be up to no good. She is determined to get herself into the head doctor’s  chair. Also, a new doctor will start at the hospital, substituting Dr. Mazur, who fell into a coma at the end of the third season and remains on the verge of life and death. There will be many conflicts and unpredictable twists".

So the main intrigue of the new seasons is the relationships in the team. The head doctor of the clinic - Ivan Petrovich Kovalyuk - will come into the spotlight, and he will have a new deputy, Herodiada Maksimovna. She will come to the clinic to elbow the head doctor out of his position by trying to turn entite team of doctors against him.

Here is how the performer of the head doctor’s role, actor Mikhail Romanov, comments this plot twist.

“My character gets a deputy forced upon him, and he has to engage in an open power struggle with her. He was put into a situation where he is forced to resign in three months. But for him, this hospital is like his child, and he won’t surrender a part of his life to someone else just like that. On the other hand, my character will never try to win by using dubious means. He takes the high road, but sometimes he will manage to masterfully use the situations that Herodiada created against her. In each episode, there will be intrigue, and chief doctor Kovalyuk will have to fight for himself and for his hospital".

Aleksandra Polguy will play the role of the new antagonist. In the series, she is a power-seeking and cold person who stoops down to deception and subterfuge to advance her interests. In real life, however, Aleksandra is a beautiful and fragile girl with unforgettable eyes. When she steps off the set, she transforms completely: now she seems to have nothing in common with the cunning Herodiada Maksimovna!

“I admit, it's far from easy for me to come to terms with my character. Time and again, I have to try and justify her and find reasons for her actions. Herodiada isn't fulfilled personally.  For some reason, her beloved doesn’t propose to her, forcing her to be cunning and unsympathetic in her actions. But there’s also a good side to Herodiada: she is a very clever, determined and strong woman. Characters like this are very interesting to play! I’m only worried about bumping into a concerned viewer in the public transport who might want to confront Herodiada and protect the other doctors...” - Alexandra laughs.

There is yet another new doctor who is about to appear at the clinic – Oleg Sergeevich. He will take the place of Dr. Mazur, who ended up in a hospital bed himself.

This character will also stir quite a bit of commotion. According to the plot, Dr. Dobryvecher was a doctor in the ATO zone, and now he is trying to reintegrate himself into the peaceful life. He constantly conflicts and quarrels with everyone: both his colleagues and his management. However, the actor playing the role of this  doctor - Aleksandr Norchuk - sees his character somewhat differently:

“I wouldn’t say that my character is in opposition to the entire world - he just has an acute sense of justice, and he fights desperately for every patient. In time, he will find common language with his colleagues, but at first, it will be a challenge for everyone".

In general, the new seasons of "Doctor on Call" will bring the viewers many interesting plot twists. Some changes will occur in the personal life of Dr. Nadezhda Pavlenko and her colleagues. You can find it all out in the new episodes.

Don’t miss them! The medical drama will start on May 14 at 13:30 and 15:30 on TV channel "Ukraine" and will be broadcast Monday through Thursday.
