Recently in Kyiv region filming started for Trust me, a four-episode miniseries. This is a joint project of FILM.UA and Ukraina TV channel.

...The first scenes of the film were shot in a suburban private house. According to the plot, Inna the protagonist with her small son Nikita arrives at a provincial town to start her life afresh and hide from the people threatening her. She meets Aleksey, and this passing acquaintance grows into a profound feeling, but Inna doesn’t know that the man she loves has been sent by her enemies…

The series director is Irina Gromozda, well-known to the audience through her previous successful projects like Step Dan, Miracle on Schedule, The Hellene, and others.

“There are situations in life when people lose their faith and give up facing a dead-end. We are filming a story about hope and the way it changes reality. When you believe, you meet people who help you to get out of a twist. And this is what happens to the protagonists. We have few characters, but they are extraordinary, with dramatic life stories. They need faith and hope for the better, and they will surely find that…” says Irina describing her new film.

During the first filming day the lead actors worked on the set: Ekaterina Ryabova, Dmitry Pchela, and the youngest member of the creative group, an 11-year-old boy Daniil Lakoza playing the role of Nikita, the protagonist’s son. He rehearsed side by side with the adults and worked professionally and confidently on the set together with his on-screen mother, Ekaterina Ryabova.

Dmitry Pchela playing the role of Aleksey also told about his character.

“My character is a nice and kind man but works for bad guys to earn money,” the actor explains. “He will have to choose between a sick sister he needs to save and Inna, the woman he loves. But my character will find an out-of-the-box solution…”

Though Trust me is a melodrama, there are some tense moments in the film; the protagonists will have to fight not just for their feelings but their lives as well. This is what Ekaterina Shvets, executive producer, says about the new film: “This is a story about being yourself no matter what, believing in yourself, and not losing hope even if destiny sends you trials. Help and support can come from somewhere you never expect, and this is what you should believe in.”

The work on the series will last until late July. Please follow our publications: we’ll be telling about the happenings on the set…
