The filming of Deceit, a 12-episode melodrama directed by Anna Gres, has started. The filming period will last till the end of 2017. Except the dramatic story, the audience is in for a lot of action and stunt scenes. The cast for the film includes Anastasia Panina, Dmitry Belyakin, Viktoria Klinkova, Kirill Zhandarov, Artur Vakha, Alla Maslennikova, Inna Miroshnichenko, Daniil Mireshkin, Oleg Moskalenko, and others.

Anna Gres, director of the series, says: “Deceit is a sort of keyhole through which the viewer will see things mostly hushed up in real life. The series is about our weaknesses, joys, concerns – and meanness. It reminds us that any deceit is uncovered sooner or later, and any skeleton will fall out of the closet some day.” It is not for the first time that the director works with this cast. “I know Anastasia Panina, Kirill Zhandarov and Artur Vakha very well, I like and respect them. It is for the first time that I work with Dmitry Belyakin as one of the leads, but it looks like we’ve found common ground.”

Dmitry Belyakin shares his impressions about his role: “It’s interesting for me to play a role contrary to my nature. I am much more quick-tempered and emotional than my character. According to the plot, parents make decisions for Anton during his whole life. At some point he understands that he’s unhappy and that he still loves a woman he has not seen for more than 10 years. His desire to revive this relationship will face many obstacles.”

Sergey Lysyanyy, line producer of the series, told about the complications in organization: “The series has many stunt scenes that we’ll organize efficiently and make a great picture out of those. According to the plot, one of the main characters is a professional mountain climber and tries to revive mountain tourism in his town. We found the location in Zhytomir region, in Denyshy village with its rocks 25 meters tall. 13 stuntmen with mountain climbers will ensure the safety of our actors. Camera cranes will function both on the peaks and at the bottom of cliffs, and we’ll be doing something really heroic bringing those heavyweight constructions down.”

Anton is used to obeying his parents, but at some point he understands he lives according to someone else’s scenario, and everything that he has is a job he hates and a wife he doesn’t love. He decides to make a 180-degree turn in his life, calls his first love Olga who lives in a small town and confesses that his feelings for her are still alive. Olga is happy, because this is also a chance for her to start afresh. She trusts Anton fully, but it’s not that easy: Anton has many mysteries and secrets, Olga is rivaled by her own sister, and very soon her life falls to pieces. In hard times, Olga is supported by Maksim, Anton’s friend and partner, who is going through a tough period after his brother’s death and is possessed with the idea to find the woman responsible for this demise. Who can be trusted and who is the reason behind all misfortunes, what is the price of human mistake and whether life always provides a chance to correct it – the audience will find out all about this in 2018.

The filming will last till late December 2017. The project will use lots of outside locations in old Kyiv neighborhoods, because the story takes place in a small provincial town.
