The premiere of four-episode melodrama Cafe On Sadovaya Street is scheduled for autumn 2017 on air of STB. The story of three women each of whom had to go walk a difficult path in search for true love was filmed in beautiful Kyiv locations and also in FILM.UA studio pavilions.

The audience will see cooking footage by one of Master Chef participants invited to the set. “Initially, we didn’t plan to include this, but understood during the filming that we need it and we can do it,” says Ekaterina Shvets, project producer at FILM.UA. Another bit of trivia: Aleksey Smorygin, son of a well-known TV host and actor Evgeny Smorygin, took part in the filming.

A melodrama could not do without the scenes of a traffic accident on a suburban highway due to a heavy rainfall arranged by the film crew with the help of special equipment. The actors bravely survived several hours in the downpour at night.

The project was in the hands of a highly professional team. A designer developed a beautiful template for “Cafe On Sadovaya Street” sign thanks to which we managed to persuade the café manager to replace their sign for the time of filming. Makeup artists did such a good job concealing tattoos on the wrists of Master Chef participant that the audience will be unable to notice them. The accident scene was filmed quickly and without injuries thanks to an efficient safety system.

A dramatic but very beautiful love story awaits the audience. As the project producer says, “The most romantic scene is where the protagonists in love walk in the park, discuss their past and future, go on rides and eat ice-cream. During the filming, we had great sunny weather, children with their parents strolling, rich greenery and beautiful forest around. The ambience turned out to be really tender and peaceful.”

Three women, three stories. All of them are of different ages and natures, and each has her own mystery. Olga, Nika and Valentina work in Cafe On Sadovaya Street, and their shared dream is to become happy in their private lives. Olga has served a prison sentence instead of her husband and now tries to bring back her son, as the spouse didn’t just betray her but also gave the boy up to be raised in another family. Valentina cannot recognize that behind an all-time controversy with the café owner real love hides. Nika has run away from wealthy parents and betrayal; she tries to start a new life among honest and simple people. To find their true love, each character will have to go a long way. But in all complicated life situations these women always support each other and soon become real friends.

Lesya Samayeva, lead actress, says, “Each character has her story and her destiny. But just like in real life, open hearts find each other, be it friendship or love. These women are different, but they are brought closer by the same skill, feeling with one’s own heart. The film is very kind, warm and optimistic. I am convinced that the viewers should watch it, because it will add light to their lives.”
