Filming of “Twist of Fate”, a 40-episode melodrama, (Ukrainian adaptation of a Korean dorama “Glass Slippers”) co-produced by FILM.UA and Inter Channel, has just been finished. For two month and a half two crews have been working on the movie under the auspices of the directors Aleksandr Tymenko, Maria Tkacheva, and Eva Strelnikova. The movie will be premiered as soon as this fall on Inter Channel.

“When I was offered the role in “Twist of Fate”, the first thing I thought then is that I was too small for this role. I didn’t even really know what the series was about – Aleksandr Tymenko, the film’s director, only gave me a rough idea about it. So we tried a sketch with him, and then in a month I received a phone call, they told me I was confirmed, I remember going all surprised like: “What?! Me? Really!?” and only afterwards the pleasure came, - says an actress Mila Syvatska. – I bought into the fact that the script was written after a Korean format. I saw a lot of Korean movies, and they are totally different from what we are making here. They are more focused on feelings, on what’s in the soul, than what is going on in the movie. And when reading our script I understood the story is decent, and certainly I started fitting the role to myself. And even though it was filmed really quickly, I am sure the show will be high quality and captivating for the viewers.”

As a reminder, “Twist of Fate” is a story about two sisters finding themselves in different families after their parents’ death. Katya grew up healthy and wealthy in her grandfather’s house (Valeriy Afanasiev), while her younger sister Olga (Mila Syvatska) has lived in poverty and misery. After many years fate brings the two sisters together again, but this time as antagonists, in love with one and the same man. Will Katya and Olga recognize each other?

“Our show has a very twisted storyline. Let’s put it that way, coming up with a hint for interest – so that any viewer wants to see the next episode – is also art… Because TV series is a special genre, this is kind of a movie lengthened in time. I do hope “Twist of Fate” is exactly what I am talking about,” - says Valeriy Afanasiev.

The leading roles in the movie were played by Mila Syvatska, Yevgenia Rozanova, Anna Adamovych, Olha Sumska, Valeriy Afanasiev, Denys Vasyliev, Oleg Haas, Victor Saraykin, Kyrill Zhandarov, Dmytro Surzhykov, Olesia Zhurakovska and others.

“Frankly speaking, I have never seen this much output, this kind of emotional scene saturation, all in a single day of filming. Together with the directors, we filled even simple cues with such an energy that we were feeling this kick long time after beyond the film set, – says Yevgenia Rozanova. – I am glad I had an opportunity to play love in various manifestations – both towards the man and towards sister, family. And the stronger your love is, the brighter you live through everything that happens to you in this life.”

“I play a female character younger than me. I’ll be frank, that’s pleasant. My colleagues used to be even joking about it: “You’ve played babushka just recently, and now you are a young woman, a lover.” I mean, you really get younger and younger with every project. Certainly, it inspires me, - Olha Sumska confesses. – What is more, you’ve got quite a thing to play: she has the character, she has it all inside. She is a willful woman capable of telling truth right in the face.”

What will the character lines of the actors be there, what troubles and twists of the plot will their characters face, we will find it all out during the premiere this fall on Inter Channel, and now let us watch a video about how the movie was made.
