The first Ukrainian movie-based AR game enhanced with the augmented reality technology, — The Stronghold Defence was introduced September 20th at KIEV MEDIA WEEK 2016 «Storytelling and branded content: current world trends in advertising and Ukrainian reality». The most famous AR game to ever introduce Augmented Reality to the world became Pokemon GO!
In her conference speech, Polina Tolmacheva, PR and Marketing Director of FILM.UA Group said that The Stronghold Defence was developed within a comprehensive campaign for the release of The Stronghold, the first Ukrainian superhero fantasy movie. The game was developed by SignalRed production house.
«Feature film promotion is not your ordinary task, and we, film producers and distributors, have to attract viewership to our product by every means known. A movie-based game is our step towards the now trending branded content, — said Polina Tolmacheva. — This is not what we rely on primarily as far as our communication policy is concerned, but we are sure this game will brighten up the movie's advertising campaign and will attract the viewership usually unresponsive to traditional channels of communication. Besides, the precedent of using The Stronghold Defence within the promotional campaign will serve as a wonderful case for our further efforts in formation of a comprehensive product placement market in Ukraine.
The Stronghold Defence is a tower defence-type game giving anyone who feels like it a chance to defend ancient Kyiv single-handedly, by building protective fortresses at the city's door, stand in a strongman's shoes countering cuman attacks, as well as directly control the course of events.
