July is the time of carefree summer holidays. Not at FILM.UA studio though, where stage work is night and day in full swing. 

The shooting of “Threads of Fate”, a 40-episode melodrama, has kicked off. This is a FILM.UA & Inter channel’s co-produced adaptation of “Glass Slippers”, a well-known Korean television drama. This is a story about two sisters finding themselves in different families after their parents’ death. The filming will end in October, and during this time the stage #4 will surely be repeatedly transformed. Right now it is filled with the aroma of wood while the scenes are being filmed in the apartments of two main female protagonists. Soon the stage will be rebuilt as a office of a mobile network carrier.

Stage #5 hosts filming of “Step Dave” the 16-episode dramedy (an adaptation of “Step Dave”, a successful New Zealand TV-series) produced by FILM.UA. The stage’s 900 square meters conveniently house a bar where, according to the plot, Dan and Tina, the main protagonists, met each other, as well as rooms and whole apartments, beauty salon, and other sets. The filming will last up to the end of August. 

Since last year’s October the stage #6 has settled “Doctor on Call”, the first Ukrainian-language medical drama TV-series, made by FILM.UA on commission from Ukraine TV-channel. Since the series made it on screen, 40 episodes of the movie have been demonstrated to more than 500 000 viewers, covering 11 million viewers above 4 years old. Now the hospital setting in stage #6 are standing empty, but very soon the characters will yet again take their seats in the doctor’s offices and will go on saving people in the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the show.

The STB channel and highly acclaimed “X-Factor” show occupied as much as three stages ato once, with magic going on inside each of them: one is for the excited participants to get registered, the other one is their expectation hall before their performances, where they give honest interviews to the editors and presenters, and the stage #1, the biggest of all, is their arena where they perform before the audience and the strict jury. A happy and talented girl has just received four precious “yes” marks, and here Andrey Bednyakov, a new presenter of the project, is filming backstage of making the history of Ukraine’s modern show business in the stage #7, where the participants get nervous before their performances. The filming will end on July 31st, and during this time the members of Jury are faced with a complex task – define the brightest and the most talented participants and change their lives forever.
