Komsomolka visited backstage of a 60-episode melodrama "The Hellene", which premiered on Inter January 12. Produced by FILM.UA series gathered a great cast. Olga Grishina, The Hellene, "former sharpie" Anton Feoktistov, House with the lilies star Aleksei Fateev and Olga Sumskaya. Olga plays a cruel mother-in-law that makes her daughter-in-law life a misery. Olga's character is 60 years old and for the first time she plays the role of grandmother. We spoke with the actress about how she got this challenging role, warmed to it and what it feels like to be a grandmother.
- I'm not afraid of auditions, believe me, I'm not arrogant, - says Olga. - I go to cating, and this is absolutely normal in the acting profession. There are actors who have reached a certain age and status, and they feel offended or humiliated...I'm not like that. If I have to take a train in the evening to meet the director in the morning - I'll do it.
- My character has lots of negative qualities. Sophia is doing everything to destroy her daughter-in-law! It is difficult to imagine that people are able to do such things! However, behind this brutality, coldness, restraint hides a vulnerable lonely people with her own problems. My dad told me that one should not be afraid to play negative roles because they are interesting with their energy.
I remember once a fan came to me and said: "Olga, I respect you so much. Your characters are so different, but you always play such a bitch!" I get lots of offers to play a dragon. But one have to know hoe to play it! Honestly, it's not so easy!
- The age of my character didn't embarrass me. In "The Hellene" I am a mother of two adults, and even a grandma. Once you have to start playing grandmothers! In this case, why should I be afraid? It's an easy rehearsal before I'll become the best grandmother in the world! Believe me, I'm mentally ready for it. Hope that my daughter Tonya will now fortunate enough. And most importantly, that she met her chosen one!
- Above all, there is also a radical change of image - strict hairstyle, cold blue eyes, business suits...By the way, when all the clothes were bought producers asked: "Is that Sumskaya's wardrobe? She brought it with her?". We can not afford to buy Chanel, but our costumes look like the most expensive brands. In the series everuthing is fake. But how it will look in the end, depends on how you present it. Even cheap jewelry may look like diamonds!
